U.S. Marine, U.S. Olympian, world-champion boxer and JLab ambassador are some of the titles held by WBO junior lightweight champion Jamel Herring.
Jamel Herring, nicknamed “Semper Fi,” is a former US Marine from New York, who served 2 tours in Iraq and boxed for Team USA at the 2012 London Games. Check out this video the Marine Corps created for this fight. After finishing out his time with the Corp, Herring turned professional and made his pro debut on December 8, 2012. He would win his first 15 professional fights before losing to Denis Shafikov in 2016. He then became a world-champion after defeating Masayuki Ito by unanimous decision in May.
Herring now 20-2 and 10 KOs will make his first title defense against the undefeated Lamont Roach Jr. at Chukchansi Park in Fresno at 7 pm PT. A special weekend for Herring as it’s the weekend of both Veterans Day and the Marine Corps birthday. He's in his final stretch to the ring and we couldn't be more excited.
With the best in the business in his corner and his favorite training tool around his head pumping major prefight tunes, he's sure to bring it this weekend! Jamel will be rocking his favorite Flex Sport Bluetooth Headphones (in a special edition color!) to get pumped up for the fight. Get the look here:
