The 6-1, 208-pound quarterback from Carlsbad, California, has competed through two spring drills and earned his first significant playing time in 2024. In four games, he completed 5-of-12 passes for 84 yards and one touchdown—a memorable 55-yard strike to tight end Bennett Christian against Western Michigan.
Sayin brings elite credentials to Columbus as a former unanimous five-star prospect and MVP of the 2023 Elite 11 Finals. His high school career included 7,824 passing yards and 85 touchdowns. Now an OSU Scholar-Athlete majoring in sport industry, Sayin has positioned himself as Ohio State's quarterback of the future.
Tate's Academic Excellence and Leadership
Carnell Tate has established himself as one of the nation's most complete wide receivers. The junior enters 2025 with 70 career receptions for 997 yards and five touchdowns across 28 games. His breakout 2024 championship season featured 52 catches for 733 yards and four touchdowns, including a crucial seven-catch, 87-yard performance against Texas in the CFP semifinal.
Tate's consistency is remarkable—he's caught passes in all 28 games he's played. His season-high 102 yards came against Nebraska, while his emotional homecoming at Wrigley Field against Northwestern produced four catches for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Beyond football, Tate excels academically as a Big Ten Conference Distinguished Scholar and two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
2024 Championship Foundation
Ohio State's 2024 national championship run showcased the program's offensive dominance. Tate started all 15 games during the championship season, providing reliable production and clutch performances when it mattered most.
