Hear OTC Good Starter Hearing Aids

I'm biased. I have three other pairs of JLAB buds for travel, meetings, and workouts; so I like them a lot. The Hear OTC didn't pair according to the quick start guide but I was wearing them and tuning them using the Android app within 20 mins. Bluetooth is a fiddly thing so patience is helpful. I'm missing some high-end hearing and Hear OTC makes some of that clearer. The buds also filter out most backround noise. I won't wear them fulltime. My use case will be driving in the car with talkers, and crowded/noisy spaces. My biggest concern was managing the bluetooth connections and they switch perfectly to take a phone call and between Hear OTC and Epic ANC buds. They perform exactly as expected!

Why doesn't the app have the hearing model?

Inconsistent performace

I have been using the JLab Hear ear buds in the hearing aid mode for two days now and don't feel as they are performing well. The first day I used them, after an hour, the sound amplification was dropping out on one side or the other randomly. I thought perhaps they needed to be recharged so I charged them for 6 hours to be safe, on the second day. After charging the units, I still have the amplification dropping out, especially on the left side, but not as often. It is very distracting and a shame they don't perform consistently because they are very useful when they are working correctly. The ear buds are set to hearing aid mode only, conversation mode ad the sound leve is set to 2. I will probably return the item to the retailer I purchased them from.

Good Sound, Good Flexibility, Great Value

Fantastic product that replaced my unreliable and poorly controlled amplifiers from another popular manufacturer. The Hearing Health app and it's adjustability across the frequency spectrum alone is a game changer!!!

Unable engaged bluetooth

Tried everything suggested in "support" tab. Tried contacting support via chat but it was not available. Probably shouldn't ask for reviews until after tech support is available. We'll see what happens. Monday, when support replies to my request for support.

I’m deaf in one ear and hard of hearing in the other can the left one be worn in the right ear or are the only made for each ear

Can these be used independent of the cell phone? My mom doesn't carry a phone around since there isn't good signal at the house. She just uses her phone when traveling.

Are these water resistant? can they get wet at all?

Yes, earbuds with an IPX4 rating can get wet to some extent. An IPX4 rating means they are protected from splashes of water from any direction. This makes them suitable for use during workouts or in light rain. We suggest making sure your earbuds are completely dry before placing them back in their charging case.
